Lexington Elementary School (K-6)

Cajon Valley Union School District
A uniquely successful project — and a new lease on learning for students at a 60-year old neighborhood K-6 elementary school.

This high-performance design of 65,000 square feet for 800 students implements a comprehensive, blended learning curriculum. Academic environments are L-shaped, day-lighted, high-volume Learning Studios that share a common exterior breakout area. All carefully designed and constructed on a nine-acre inner city site that was still occupied by the original 60-year old school!
During construction of the new facility, the existing school served as interim housing. Upon completion of the new site, it was demolished to create a new playfield area. S+W is proud of this redesign that brings learning, functionality and fun to one of El Cajon’s oldest inner city schools.
“We really value your partnership with us from initial planning and input gathering through design, construction administration and final project certification. The result is a beautiful, functional, energy-efficient school and another very successful CVUSD project with Sprotte+Watson.”
